We’d love to hear from you and encourage you to submit an application! Meet Key, Brie, and Vic: the trio behind the Prair Meet Key, Brie, and Vic: the trio behind the Prairie Pride Hockey League! 🌾🌈🏒 Inspired by the PWHL Winnipeg takeover game in March and the lack of a dedicated queer league in the city, the three of us figured, “How hard could it be?” and now …. here we are! As avid hockey fans (and player, in Vic’s case), we’re beyond excited to be here, it’s been wonderful to meet so many interested people and organizations!!!! The colour palette, rounded edges, and simple icons give a clear sense of the league’s purpose, without being aggressive and masculine, as is common in the hockey world.” over an oat background. July: Increase capacity, develop a Working Board, announce our pilot event. 5. Fall: Host pilot event, establish strong business, finance and hockey operations. We can only go up from here!
Our goals. Short Term Goals (within the year): Develop relationships with community. Develop a working Board of Directors. Gain a volunteer list. Host our pilot event. Develop partnerships and sponsorships. Gain a member list. Long Term Goals (2-5 years): Prioritize new short term goals. Host shinnies. Develop the league into teams. Develop a rental equipment collection. Host skating and skill lessons. Monitor and evaluate org progress.
Our needs. The Prairie Pride Hockey League cannot operate without the support of our community.
